Another 9/11 on 9/11

When radicals attacked the U.S. Embassy in Egypt, they chanted “Obama! Obama! We are all Osama!” – a message to President Obama of their allegiance for Al Qaeda’s former leader.

On the eleventh anniversary of 9/11, anti-American protestors breached the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, tore down the American flag and replaced it with a black Al Qaeda flag. Egyptian security forces did not try to stop them in the initial attack. President Muhammed Morsi waited 24 hours before issuing his statement against the militants who stormed the embassy.

Simultaneously, the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya was attacked by Islamist terrorists, brutally assassinating Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three diplomatic staff members. The Libyan government did nothing to defend the U.S. Embassy.

The Delayed White House Response: President Obama and Secretary Clinton remained uncomfortably silent to the American people regarding the attacks on U.S. embassies. When the administration finally responded the next day on Sept. 12th, it placed total blame on the anti-Islam YouTube video which offended Muslims.The “Innocence of Muslims,” the film blamed for provoking the violence, was the work of a California-based Israeli filmmaker Sam Bacile, according to a report by the Associated Press. Initially on Sept. 11th, President Obama made phone calls to the presidents of Egypt and Libya to apologize for the repulsive film which was offensive to Muslims across the Epicenter.

By Friday, more U.S. embassies were being attacked in 21 countries and the Obama administration still maintained that the uprisings were caused by the offensive anti-Muslim film. They remained silent about terrorism or Al Qaeda, whose black flag was now being flown over U.S. embassies in Cairo, Benghazi, Tunisia, and Yemen.

Congressional leaders who were briefed on Friday by CIA Director David Petraeus reported that these events were preplanned by Al Qaeda and timed to occur on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11. The Members of Congress reiterated that the uprisings were not due to the anti-Muslim film.  MORE…….
