And the government will be upon His shoulder…..Isaiah 9:6
The candidates that represented righteousness in the 2012 Election are to be commended as heroes. They fought for freedom. Those who voted for righteousness are to be praised as heroes in the eyes of the LORD. In all that we do, we must please the LORD first.
We experienced a tidal wave of corporate prayer throughout the Church in 2012; and now the big question everyone is asking is where do we go from here?
First, we must be like the sons of Issachar and recognize the season we live in. The election results show this is the new America! What does this tell us? Some analysts are calling it a new kind of politics. As an evangelist, I call it a backslidden nation that needs spiritual awakening. This presidential election will have more adverse consequences for your religious freedom and the future of America. Attacks will intensify against the sanctity of life, marriage and the family, and our nation’s Constitution.
We saw the shift in national principles surface with the 2008 Election which ushered in the rise of the big government machine from the FDR days. America had already been steadily declining for 35 years, but 2008 revealed the tipping point. Our national sovereignty is also slipping into the control of the one-world government under the United Nations.
After the 2008 Election, we saw the Church of Jesus Christ wake up, and the TeaEvangelical movement emerged to hold up the standard against big government. The righteous were building up their hopes for a reversal like the 1980 Election which ushered in a new era with Ronald Reagan. The problem is the nation is not on the same moral ground we were in the 1980s.
Why didn’t we win? I don’t know if the vote counts were tampered with, but this is how they win elections under totalitarian governments. But be assured, politicians will recalibrate their strategies toward winning elections at all cost. Expect more tolerance and compromise in order to get votes. The Christian Right will be pushed into the background; like we’ve seen the Democratic party become anti-God and anti-family.
As for the Church, we need to go back to square A. The Church of Jesus Christ will have to adjust its vision. Returning to our first love for Christ is where we begin. Adopting Christ’s mission for the Church is essential for His approval. I recommend reading His message to the seven churches in John’s Revelation. It is a message to all generations.
What plan do you have to help bring in the harvest of souls? Have you ever been an instrument of the Holy Spirit to bring about miracles? Step into the Church of the Book of Acts and release your mission onto the highways and the byways of life. It might bring some persecution your way, but count it all joy like the disciples who are cheering you on in the cloud of witnesses.
Enter the Race of Faith in Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…..”
As for us, we remain here for such a time as this at the nation’s capital to represent the Church of Jesus Christ in America; and persecuted Christians around the globe. We are here to give a witness to government leaders on behalf of the Kingdom of God. We are salt and light in a Babylonian system which represents the world.
As we rub salt into our government leaders, we also pray for them to see the light. Please pray for us to prevail like Esther, Daniel and his three Hebrew friends who would rather die than bow to a pagan king and his idol.
I pray that this year the Body of Christ will draw closer to Christ with increased faith. Please pray about helping with a generous financial gift this month to help us reach the goal for our Capitol Hill office on the front lines and the expanded media outreach. We need $20,000 between now and December 10th.
