Take Action on Behalf of First Amendment Rights
Join with Members of Congress who have addressed President Obama on behalf of religious freedom.
In February, Lea Carawan, Executive Director of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation announced their latest appeal to President Obama to uphold the U.S. Constitution, precisely the First Amendment’s provision for religious freedom. Here is a brief outline with the link to read the entire letter sent to the president from Members of the Congress…..
Recently, Congressional Prayer Caucus Founder and Co-chairman, J. Randy Forbes, led a bi-partisan effort to address the flagrant dismantling of our most important freedom, the right to worship God freely in the public square.
In a letter to the President, he and his colleagues called on the President to respect the democratic process he has sworn to defend, and uphold the right to free exercise of religion that this nation was founded upon, by rescinding the Agencies’ memos. Take a moment to read the details of the letter, below are a few of the highlights:
- The Department of Labor is forcing private business owners to recognize same-sex marriage in retirement plans
- The Department of Defense is making discriminatory determinations for benefits
- The Department of Health and Human Services is requiring private Medicare Advantage providers to cover the skilled nursing care of same-sex married couples
Awareness is just the one important component of the battle. We The People have to do something with what we learn. People of faith have the responsibility and authority to turn this nation around. Praying for all the important elements of our nation is just one action step, we must let this Administration know they have crossed the line!
Freedom is not free; it is priceless. Please take a moment to pray and ask God what you can do. Also, support our national leaders by sending a similar letter to the President and your state elected leaders. America is worth fighting for. We must act now!
