MARCH FOR LIFE TODAY!!!
On behalf of the March For Life in Washington, D.C. we have chosen to share this urgent message from Live Action’s president, Lila Rose…..
Dear Friend of Life,
Sometimes, a number is so big that we can’t really fathom what it means. Try to picture a number like fifty-seven million – that’s 57,000,000. Can you do it? Maybe, if you’re like me, you can conceive of 57 million dollars, when you begin to think about what could be purchased with those dollars – its worth, its value.
But how does one even begin to comprehend 57 million lives, each one comprising inestimable worth?
Since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions in 1973, 57 million pre-born children have been killed – legally – in our country. I can talk to you about hundreds of stadiums full of people, or the populations of countries, but things like this don’t really get the point across – because we can’t even conceive of a number so large.
So instead, think of a kindergarten classroom, with bright eyes and raised hands. Think of a couple of boys racing toy trucks in their living room. Think of five little girls giggling at a sleepover.
These are the lives legalized abortion has snuffed out in our nation. These scenarios, multiplied more times than the human mind can fathom.
And this is why we march. This is why, every year, on the anniversary of those infamous Supreme Court decisions, hundreds of thousands of those of us who were born into privilege – that is, the privilege of being born, since in America it is no longer a protected right – march to the building where those decisions were handed down and demand redress.
The anniversary of this American miscarriage of justice takes place once a year, but the tragedy plays out in our families, our schools, and our communities each and every day.
So today, we make a special effort to consider and remember those lost. And, in their honor, we redouble our efforts to protect and save those we still can.
Yours in the fight for life,
Lila Rose (President of Live Action)
