WHY DEFEND THE U.S. CONSTITUTION?

During this Memorial Day, while honoring men and women in the military who paid the ultimate price to defend our freedoms, we should also reflect upon our part to defend these freedoms at home.  “In God We Trust” is our national motto and the U. S. Constitution is America’s covenant with God – the law of God influenced its principles.  What is at risk today is Religious Liberty – a gift granted by God, which became law in the First Amendment of the Constitution. The United Nations Universal Doctrine on Human Rights defines it as the basic right for every person on the earth.

NOT JUST AN INALIENABLE RIGHT: Scripture supports a biblical role to defend the Constitution:

History validates that a biblical prophetic influence on government brings accountability to leaders and can transform society. There are examples in the O.T. where God’s people had His approval for their actions within secular government. Moses, Joseph, Daniel, and Esther are listed among God’s representatives who preserved their nation’s posterity.

In the N.T., John the Baptist rebuked Herod, the Roman ruler, for all the evil deeds he did (Luke 3:19). Jesus warned the Jews about the doctrine and hypocrisy (leaven) of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Luke 12:1; Matthew 16:5-12; 23:1-4). In Acts, chapters 24 and 25, we read how the Apostle Paul (while in chains) testifies of Christ’s death and resurrection before several Roman rulers in Caesarea. He also appeals to be heard before the Roman Supreme Court, Caesar’s judgment seat. The Book of Acts ends with Paul unharmed by the Jews and preaching the gospel under house arrest in Rome.

In America, Christians are not yet being called to die for our faith. We are simply being called to live for our faith.

Church leaders are speaking out to SCOTUS about their June opinion on marriage: No “redefinition.” “We respectfully warn the Supreme Court not to cross this line.”

Their Pledge: “A decision asserting to redefine marriage flies in the face of the Constitution and is contrary to the natural created order. As people of faith, we pledge obedience to our Creator when the state directly conflicts with higher law. Neither the Supreme Court nor any state has authority to redefine the natural created order of marriage.” Their Marriage Pledge warns that a decision mandating same-sex marriage simply would not be accepted. Evangelical Hispanic Churches Vote to Sign the Pledge for Traditional Marriage. The board of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Counsel, which represents 40,118 evangelical Hispanic churches in America and about 500,000 in Latin America and Spain, recently voted to sign the Marriage Pledge.

ARE WE A NATION AT WAR AGAINST ITS OWN FOUNDATION?

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3)

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, author of the New York Times bestseller “The Harbinger” and the inspiration behind the “Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” movie, comments on the Supreme Court’s assumption that it even has any authority to redefine marriage:

“The justices of the Supreme Court took up their seats [in a hearing] on whether they should strike down the biblical and historic definition of marriage,” he said. “That the event should even take place is a sign this is America of [George] Washington’s warning … a nation at war against its own foundation.”

CHURCH IS TO OCCUPY UNTIL CHRIST RETURNS (Luke 19:13)

The prophetic voice of the Church is needed to influence and hold the government accountable. Many Christians believe the Church’s mission is restricted to preaching and teaching the Gospel, i.e., advancing the Kingdom of God. This view overlooks Christian stewardship that preserves society, as well as our purpose to evangelize the world.

The Late Dr. Bill Bright said, “Our hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ and not in national governments. However, in whatever government God has placed us in; we are to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-2) and be good citizens (1 Peter 2:13-15). For those of us blessed to be placed in a society with political freedom and the privilege to help select leaders through voting, we have a special OBLIGATION.”

Today, thousands of pastors and spiritual leaders are trumpeting a clarion call for the Church to re-engage in all areas of American life, which is vital to the future of the Church and the nation. Being salt and light is not optional; it indicates the citizen’s influence for good.

GOD ALONE IS THE ANSWER: Extraordinary Prayer Brings Revival & Spiritual Awakening

  1. In Joel 2:15-17; the call is first made for the priests to blow the trumpet and gather the people for prayer. Then, the priests are to lead the people in prayer.
  2. We need churches to become a “House of Prayer,” crying out for revival, awakening, and national renewal.
  3. We need pastors that will preach on moral issues from a scriptural perspective, focusing on “Christian Citizenship.” Pastors are responsibile to teach their people the biblical view for public policy, so they will do good works to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
  4. We need pastors themselves to come together for prayer and united action, and leading efforts to make a positive impact on their community, state, and nation. (Salt and Light, Matthew 5:13-16)

MAYDAY WARNING: PRAY

In a time when Christian values are being put at odds with the culture and the courts, prophets within the Church are sounding off warnings of impending judgment coming to America. They believe God is signaling us to get our attention, and they sense the time is critical for the Church to CRY OUT to God! We implore you to watch Anne Graham Lotz’ interview on CBN NEWS.

The prophets in our midst are like the Sons of Issachar, and it is pertinent that we heed their message. The imminent dangers hanging over the nation are: economic implosion, a terrorist attack surpassing 9/11, a racial war across the country, and natural disasters. Even so, the greatest judgment we face as a nation is to lose God’s divine presence and blessing. For too long, the level of sin in America has risen higher than the level of prayer.

We ask you to join with other government leaders and clergy who are uniting together across the nation to say, “Enough! We will not sit idly by and watch our nation’s history and Judeo-Christian heritage be rewritten with a false narrative!”

MAYDAY WARNING: Ann Graham Lotz Warns Judgment Is Near

Billy Graham’s daughter is sounding an alarm to Christians across the nation, calling America’s Church to cry out to God in prayer and repentance. One of the focal purposes of this MAYDAY prayer is to implore God the Holy Spirit to compel the church to repent of sin and our nation to return to faith in the living God, that times of refreshing may come… Acts 3:19

Secondly, this June the U. S. Supreme Court will hand down their decision about same-sex marriage. Pastors across the nation are committing to lead their congregations to pray for SCOTUS to uphold traditional marriage according to the Bible. If they decide to allow same sex marriage in every state, it will be a setback for the nation and the church, and pastors will be cited for hate crimes.

Today, we are hearing pastors use the words “peaceful resistance” and “civil disobedience” if forced to accept government regulations that go against their biblical faith. .…..CLICK HERE for the MAYDAY Prayer Initiative by Anne Graham Lotz.

Tony Perkins, the President of Family Research Council has said, “A handful of committed Christians are the status quo’s worst nightmare. A country of them is culture changing. If there was ever a nation that needed Jesus, it’s ours. So together, let’s seek God’s face, ever asking, “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day” — and every day.
