Your Eyes and Ears at the Nation's Capital

When will we repent?

Great spiritual awakenings are the sovereign work of Almighty God. Revival is when God comes down. I have experienced this only one time during my 38 years in ministry. God came down with the sound of a freight train rolling through 200 pastors and lay leaders who broke out into repentance, while I was preaching a revival among the villages on the border of Uganda and Kenya. It is my passion to see this happen in America.

Today’s church leaders are hungry for such revival. They believe there is no revival because of liberalism and apostasy in the churches. They say there is no revival because of too much worldly entertainment within God’s house. God’s house is divided, and we are in need of reconciliation and unity. There is no revival because Christians do not love and respect one another. Others believe that simply engaging in spiritual warfare will tear down demonic strongholds.

These are not the reasons we do not have revival in the Church; they are the consequence of no revival. God’s house becomes polluted without holiness among the people. Sin removes the presence of God’s glory. All our united prayer gatherings are in vain until we genuinely repent of our sins.

The Christian Church has never been so big, and never seen such great numbers, and all being achieved with unimaginable financial success. Even so, with all the Mega-churches, there is no revival, and no great outpouring of the Holy Spirit like seen in the days of D. L. Moody, Charles Spurgeon and Billy Sunday.

What stands in the way of a great outpouring today?

The Word of God reveals it is sin that prevents revival. Sin corrupts and takes us into captivity. Haughtiness and pride blind God’s people from repenting of their sin. They dress in self-righteousness, go to church, and look around in haughtiness and pride.

Self-righteousness is a filthy rag in God’s sight. We hear God’s people repenting in Isaiah 64:5-8: “You are indeed angry, for we have sinned—In these ways we continue; and we need to be saved. But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. And there is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You; for You have hidden Your face from us, and have consumed us because of our iniquities.” (Emphasis added.)

Revival develops when we return to a true fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. When a nation falls from God’s grace, there is simply one-way back: Repentance. The eternal God tells us how in 2 Chronicles 7:13-15:

When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. (Emphasis added.)

Blessing Israel and Occupying

This week, I was privileged to join the ranks of those who came to the nation’s capital to stand with Israel in solidarity. While 6,000 members of Christians United For Israel (CUFI) were on Capitol Hill telling their congressional representatives and senators to reject any U. S. agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s largest supporter of terrorism in the world was given a free path to a nuclear weapon by the Obama administration. As a bonus, the mullahs are being given hundreds of billions of dollars to further their support for Hezbollah and Hamas and many other Islamic terrorist organizations.

Within hours after the agreement, they were shouting death to Israel and the United States in the streets of Tehran. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu and a handful of Arab leaders have condemned this evil agreement with Iran. All of Europe is now burning with the fire of anti-Semitism, and Jews are frightened to be seen with any clothing or object that shows they are Jews.

During the past six years, President Obama has not only single-handedly transformed the United States as he promised he would, but he has now brought disaster to the entire world. In Washington, the push has begun to intimidate and threaten Democrats on Capitol Hill to vote for his administration’s diabolical agreement with Iran’s mullahs. This is the only way Obama’s healthcare act was passed through Congress.

These are indeed perilous times for the U.S. and the Middle East. We are asking you to make a stand with us as we maintain a threshing floor at the nation’s capital. If seeing the White House colored in rainbow colors didn’t wake up the part of America that still has any moral fiber, then there is no hope left for any future of the U. S. A few days ago, the President of Kenya warned President Obama that on his upcoming visit, he couldn’t preach his homosexual agenda in that country.

We need your help to continue standing as watchmen on the walls of Washington, D. C. and Jerusalem during these perilous times…

We express our warmhearted appreciation for your precious years of support, and at this time, we ask you to prayerfully consider a sacrificial offering to help cover an urgent $3,000 remaining deficit, which we need by July 31st to cover vital ministry expenses. We begin a new budget year in the fall, which means renewed expenses for operating this ministry in the most costly city within the nation.

We thank each one of you who are faithful to pray and fast regularly with us, and we now ask you to help with our summer budget. Every Christian must be mindful that “to whom much is given, from him much will be required” (Luke 12:48). Jesus continued to say, “To whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.”

America needs a divine intervention soon, and the Church must lead. A large part of our outreach is to awaken pastors to the salt and light role of the Church and for revival. A Joel 2:17 revival has begun, with clusters of solemn assemblies being conducted across the nation. Those five black-robed SCOTUS justices that redefined marriage across the nation, may have also ignited America’s coming spiritual revival. In church after church, the story is the same — pastors are preaching powerful sermons on God’s design for marriage and urging their congregations to accept no substitutes.

Why Revival? The level of sin is still greater than the level of prayer.

If My people…God is calling the Church to repent and return to Him as their first love. Only a Church on fire can be that restraining force around the world, which the Apostle Paul spoke of in 2 Thessalonians 2:7. However, many Christians are shrinking back into silence.

It is not a time for Christians to lie down and allow the enemy to tread on their necks. It is not an hour for Churches to fear losing their 501(c)(3), more than preaching the truth in God’s Word.

Jesus instructed His disciples to “occupy until I come!” Those who choose to retreat into the four walls of the Church, are doing what God’s people did in Isaiah 51:23 when their oppressors told them, “Bow down, that we may ride or tread over you; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to pass over.” Conquerors would literally tread on the necks of their captured enemies.

This is the time to stand with Israel. Isaiah explains how God’s divine intervention will take Israel’s cup of trembling and place it upon their enemies. The Lord is telling Christians to bless Israel and believe for divine intervention against their enemies, and the God of Israel will stand with the Church. How?

In the very next verse, Isaiah 52:1 God calls His people to wake up, put on their strength, and stand up!! The awakening of the Church arouses the arm of the Lord. Scripture reveals that when God’s arm seems to slumber, it is because Zion sleeps. Joshua and Israel’s army prevailed against their enemies as long as Moses’ could hold up his arms in prayer to Yahweh.

Your prayers and financial support hold up our arms while we face the spiritual battle. It is now summer, and we ask you to prayerfully consider sending a sacrificial gift to help cover the remaining $3,000 operating budget needed by July 31st. Your contribution will help cover media and travel expenses, so we can blow the trumpet and get the truth out to the body of Christ. We also need to expand our outreach to ministerial associations and intercessory networks. Maintaining social media is a key tool.

We are eternally grateful for your faithfulness to advance the Kingdom of God and not grow weary in doing good works. Defending religious freedom at the U. S. Congress and blowing a trumpet to wake up the watchmen across the nation is vital to our future!

Your past support has fueled our success, and now we ask you to invest your precious seed to help in this pivotal hour for Israel, the Church and nation. “Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!”

In Christ’s service,

Ruth
