Your Eyes and Ears at the Nation's Capital

Rome’s Pontiff calls America back to first works

We covered the Pontiff’s visit to the nation’s capital and pray that his message at the U.S. Congress will change hearts and minds across the land to defend and protect human life and preserve the traditional family. Pray for many to develop a consciousness and fear of the One Almighty God!

Pope Francis is one more prophetic voice crying out in the wilderness! We pray that his call for America to return to her first works does not get lost amid the Pontiff’s references on poverty, immigration, and environmental issues. His “golden rule” message has been entirely ignored by the media.

In Revelation 2:5, Christ warns of the consequence for not returning to our first works, “Or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”

The Pope’s message is “for such a time as this.” In mid-August 2015, I sensed a divine shift happening in the heavenly realm regarding God’s calendar. My immediate thought was that God was delaying the devastating judgments being predicted for this fall. During my years at the nation’s capital, I have often sensed a heavenly shift occurring, which is usually a sign that God is responding to the prayers of His people. Later, there would be a confirmation that God was granting another season of mercy and grace to the nation.

One year before September 11, 2001, I heard a different message for the nation. This time, the LORD said that prayer would not stop the impending disaster, but we were instructed to pray for His mercy to lessen its impact. We learned later that it could have been much worse. After the 9/11 Islamic attacks on America, the Church experienced a short-lived revival, but sadly, the nation again went back into complacency toward God.

In this hour, I believe God is giving America another open window, or a season of mercy to repent and return to Him. This does not mean that we might not experience more shaking, or wake up calls. The purpose of shaking is that it leads to revival. We know from the story of Nineveh that God would rather send revival than judgment. God’s people must believe with faith and expect His favor and divine intervention.

Prophesying judgment is the role of the watchman, but repentance is the response that will appeal to God’s sovereignty. Repentance demands a change in our ways to please God and avert judgment. This was Jonah’s mission when God sent him to prophesy that judgment was coming to ancient Nineveh in 40-days. God’s message had an impact on that heathen city, but Jonah lacked the faith to believe for God’s divine intervention in response to their repentance. Indeed, Nineveh turned from their wicked ways and God relented from sending judgment for 150 years.

We believe God is giving America a new open window of time to pray, to change, and turn back to the Almighty. Repentance must begin in the Church. As the Church goes, so goes the nation! We need to change church as usual and put His kingdom purposes first in our daily agenda. Revival brings a great harvest!!

Desecrations that now pollute the land have driven thousands upon thousands to put on sackcloth and repent. I believe this is America’s Nineveh hour, and we will see that great revival as prophesied in the Book of Joel, chapter two. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Revival is crucial to the nation’s future. Gross abominations against God’s moral law are rapidly filling the nation’s cup of sin to an alarming level. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn says America is guilty of desecrating those things that belong to God. For instance, murdering the life of the unborn, redefining the institution of marriage and sex gender, and perverting the rainbow which belongs to God. The White House was desecrated when rainbow colored lights were lit up across it on the evening of the SCOTUS decision that redefined marriage.

Now is the time to repent and stand up! When we know that God’s favor and mercy are on our side, then we can respond to impending danger or judgment and speak with authority in our prayers.

Joshua was leading the armies of Israel when they realized one more day of time was needed to defeat the Amorites. When Joshua spoke with authority, God miraculously had the sun and moon stand still for 24 hours. Yahweh altered His divine calendar so Israel could defeat their enemies (Joshua 10:12-13).

God is extending His scepter of mercy and grace with one more open window of time! Let’s respond like Esther, and return to our first works according to 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.
