Discerning God’s Chosen
At a time when America faces the most critical crossroads in her history, Christians are more confused and divided than ever before. It appears they have shut up their ears to shut out God’s VOICE. Nonetheless, religious persecution has awakened prayer across the nation, and faithful saints around the globe have been crying out to God for America. They have repented, prayed for justice and cried out for revival; and the Lord says, “I have heard their CRY!” When God hears our prayers, then we know He will answer:
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15).
About two years ago while working in my office, I heard a silence in Heaven that immediately stopped me to give an ear to the Holy Spirit. The Lord said, “I have reset time for America for the sake of My people. I have heard their prayers and will reverse the downward spiral for a season.” The Lord then instructed me to tell His people to pray for His divine intervention to turn back the tide in the nation.” God wants to revive America from spiritual darkness. Thirty years ago, the Lord spoke to me in the middle of taping a television program in Washington, D.C. saying, “I want to send a Nineveh-type revival to the nation.”
In this 2016 presidential election cycle, I believe the Lord is saying, “STOP, LOOK and LISTEN to the evident signs I’m giving you! Pray for discernment. Do what My Word tells you in Proverbs 3:5-6; ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.’”
Discernment is supernatural insight and is only possible when we look through the eyes (or lens) of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2-3). Daniel the prophet, glorified God in Babylon. He governed within the king’s court in Babylon during the 70-year captivity of Israel. The Bible lists the sons of Issachar among the divisions of David’s army at Hebron: Scripture says, they possessed “understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command” (2 Chronicles 12:32).
How do we know we are hearing from God? Look for confirmation. Today, hundreds of credible pastors and public figures are making a bold stand to publicly witness that they believe God has anointed Donald J. Trump as his chosen vessel for the presidency of the U.S. Mr. Trump has shown solidarity in expressing his public support for pro-life issues, religious freedom and the U.S. Constitution. These are values that matter to Christians, yet many are opting out from voting because Mr. Trump does not pass their litmus test.
God often answers prayer contrary to our thinking. Jesus, the Messiah, was rejected by the established religious order, even though He fulfilled prophecy before their eyes. In Isaiah, chapter 45 we read about Cyrus, a Persian king chosen by Yahweh to deliver the Jewish nation out of Babylon and restore their Holy City Jerusalem. Daniel was serving in the king’s court when Cyrus conquered the Babylonians Empire. After Daniel read Isaiah’s prophecy to Cyrus, over 150 years after Isaiah’s time, the Persian king was moved to fund the restoration of Jerusalem and their Temple.
In 1979, the Holy Spirit directed me to read the life of Cyrus in Ezra chapter six, and Isaiah chapter 45. I was led to pray for God’s Cyrus to come forth on behalf of America. In 1980-88, Ronald Reagan wasn’t called God’s Cyrus, even though he was God’s instrument to restore America from its decline. In 2016, many prophetic voices have been hearing the Holy Spirit connect Donald J. Trump with Isaiah’s Cyrus. Six months ago, I received a Word from the Lord that Trump is God’s Cyrus for such a time as this. God knows this nation needs a deliverer with the anointing of Cyrus to restore our freedoms.
The 2016 presidential election is about the Church and Israel. The Church must restrain her enemies so she can fulfill the final harvest of souls (2 Thessalonians 2:7). Israel needs the Church and America to stand with her; she is God’s timepiece for prophecy to be fulfilled in these end times.
The future of the U.S. Supreme Court will be the most critical issue decided in the 2016 election. The President we elect will nominate between 1 to 4 Justices. The Senate we elect will confirm those Justices. According to George Barna, godly leaders would govern our nation if only 10% more Christians voted—39 million Christians did not vote in the 2012 general election. Christians have a key role to play in influencing the Supreme Court and bringing hope to our nation this election!
We are in a battle for America’s SOUL. God chooses kings and leaders. Israel missed her Messiah. In this hour, will we miss God’s deliverer? If we will not stand up and fight, our enemies will be given permission to run over us:
But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to you, ‘Lie down, that we may walk over you.’ And you have laid your body like the ground, and as the street, for those who walk over (Isaiah 51:23).
