Washington Officials Need to Hear from YOU on Securing our Borders and Tax Reform!

The flow of illegal drugs coming across the U. S. southern border begs for a wall to stop drug cartels from smuggling billions of dollars of drugs onto America’s streets. In areas where a wall already exists has proven to keep out illegal aliens.

Hal Lindsey accurately described the situation in his recent blog:

Lindsey wrote, “The world staggers like a drunk on the edge of a cliff.” It desperately needs a strong — and moral — America for stability. But, even more than that, it needs God’s help and intervention as never before.

So does America. The Washington Post reports that because Seattle is experiencing an epidemic of drug overdoses, it is creating “safe sites for addicts to inject illegal drugs.”

Remember the drug craze of the late 60s? In 1968, we were horrified that 5,000 Americans died of drug overdoses.

In 2015, 52,000 Americans died of drug overdoses. No media outcry. Only yawns and sexual harassment lawsuits.

The Bible expressly predicts that one of the distinct signs of the end times will be a dramatic increase in drug use and our dependence on drugs.

In 2011, the Global Commission on Drug Policy declared that the famous “war on drugs” had failed. Today, there are popular television series in which the hero or heroes model drug dependency for their young viewers.

Accepting drug abuse means thousands of young people will die every year who need not have died. It also means the destruction of families and will ultimately lead to the death of our stable society.”

The U.S. Congress is the VOICE of the people:

Your elected representatives and senators in Washington, D.C. need to hear from you, or they will vote according to their own political view. If you support President Trump’s promise to build a wall on the southern border, then your elected Members of Congress need to hear how you feel.

If you support the proposed tax reform package President Trump just sent to Congress, call your representatives and senators and tell them to vote YES on tax cuts.

A statement from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and other top GOP lawmakers said: “The principles outlined by the Trump Administration today will serve as critical guideposts for Congress and the Administration as we work together to overhaul the American tax system and ensure middle-class families and job creators are better positioned for the 21st century economy.”

For those who are concerned the tax cuts would presumably represent billions in lost revenue every year — the plan will expand income from small businesses, which will help reduce the deficit. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin also called for a one-time tax on corporate money overseas, predicting it would bring trillions of dollars back to the U. S. It also eliminates most tax breaks that benefit high-income taxpayers. At the same time, popular tax breaks like the mortgage interest and charitable deductions would be preserved. The plan would also eliminate the estate tax that Republicans often deride as the ‘death tax’ and the 3.8 percent tax on investment income under ObamaCare.

Congressional leaders say an underlying goal is to simplify the tax system, noting that the increase in the standard deduction would mean far fewer households would have to itemize their deductions.

Trump is not the Gipper, but the Reagan Era is not over!

America must restore its lead in world affairs. Trump’s ‘America first’ does not mean ‘America only.’ Apparently some understood candidate Trump quite differently, and they are not happy with his overseas actions. The reality is that the world needs a strong America, which means we must put our own interests first. In doing so, we will be able to help the rest of the world.

America has a moral duty to remind the tyrants of this world that they cannot act with impunity. This present world is facing greater dangers than any time in recent memory. With all the tension buildup against Israel and Jerusalem, 2017 might be the year for a confrontation from Syria, Russia and Iran. The ultimate motive is the focus on Jerusalem.

Newly elected President Trump faces the dual threat of nuclear war in Asia and the Middle East. The prospect of a conflict with Russia and Iran in the epicenter brings us closer to fulfilling the biblical prophecies that these two powers will one day lead a coalition of nations that will invade Israel. Two wars are prophesied in Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17, which describes Damascus as being reduced to a “ruinous heap.” Sounds like Assad’s chemical weapons might cause his own destruction. The heinous chemical attacks the Bashar al-Assad regime committed against their own people, are a result of the Obama administration’s weakness and irresolution.

A larger major war against Israel is prophesied at a later time in Ezekiel 38 & 39, in which God will judge and diminish Islam along with Russia. This could free up Israel to build their long-awaited third temple on the Temple Mount. These wars against Israel will not be Armageddon, but they will dramatically change the world order and set the stage for the antichrist and Armageddon.

The increased anti-Semitism and divestment of Israel is a sign that the nations will forsake Israel and challenge their right to claim Jerusalem as their capital. As 2016 ended, the nations were focused on Jerusalem, demanding that it be divided and made the capital of a Palestinian State. In December 2016, President Obama made the fatal mistake of voting against Israel’s legitimacy at the United Nations. His decision to betray Israel went against the U.S. Congress and the American people. Donald Trump’s presidency now gives the United States the opportunity to mend this disloyal act against Israel and Jerusalem! Governor Nikki Haley, Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations, is working hard to reverse anti-Semitism towards Israel.

As these world dangers intensify — just as the Bible predicts — so does the urgency to understand the hope that provides all believers peace in the midst of these dark times: the promise of the Lord’s soon return! Regardless, Jesus commanded His disciples to “occupy until I return.” Even so, come, Lord Jesus! (Rev. 22:20)

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!

Celebrating Passover and Resurrection Week by Protecting Religious Freedom

The Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation sent a letter to President Trump, signed by over a thousand legislators and citizens, encouraging him to sign an Executive Order and uphold his promise to protect religious freedom. You can read the letter here. We are proud to stand for freedom, along with the efforts of the Members of the Prayer Caucus. Please commit to praying for them, their families, and staff daily.

Each week Congress is in session, members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus meet before votes to pray in Room 219 of the U.S. Capitol.

There are over 100 Members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, a bipartisan and bicameral caucus, that is spearheading a strategic movement of national, state and local leaders and citizens who are working together to promote prayer, protect religious freedom and restore, upgrade and popularize America’s founding spirit and the principles related to faith and morality that shaped this Great Republic.

The Congressional Prayer Caucus co-chair, Senator Lankford, encourages the Trump Administration to Protect Religious Freedom:

In April, Senator Lankford, Co-Chair of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, sent a letter to President Trump to encourage his Administration to protect the basic human right of religious freedom, both in America and around the world. The letter is very well-written and emphasizes the vital importance of keeping our First Amendment Rights a priority, and providing clear guidelines for doing so:

“Religious freedom – the right to practice any faith or to choose no faith at all – is a fundamental human right of all people. I was encouraged to hear you say that a “first priority” of your administration will be to “preserve and protect our religious liberty,” and I believe there are several steps you can take to make that commitment a reality”.

Specifically, the letter encouraged the administration to clearly condemn ISIS genocide; integrate religious freedom throughout American foreign policy; nominate a new Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom in the State Department; advocate for prisoners of conscience abroad; fill the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships Director’s position; and affirm civil rights hiring protections for faith-based nonprofits. Lankford sent this letter as people of various faiths celebrate religious holidays around the world this week, including Easter and Passover.

In March, Lankford encouraged the Trump Administration to develop a strategy for imprisoned Americans abroad. On March 17, Lankford wrote an op-ed about State Secretary John Kerry’s genocide designation a year ago. In February, Lankford and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) led a Senate letter to President Trump and Secretary Rex Tillerson urging that they prioritize the nomination of the Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom within the State Department.

Senator Lankford is co-chair of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, which protects the right of Americans to practice a faith of their choosing or to practice no faith at all.
